Secrets To Success

Never Give Up

So many times we hear the saying "never give up", but do we really hear it. The key is to hear it, believe it and to do something about it.

It takes a little bit of extra effort and maybe some faith to keep on pushing. You need to believe in yourself and dream big. There will always be people who do not believe in you, but never let that someone be you. "To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream, not only plan, but also believe." Anatole France

No matter what your goal, just believing and dreaming will not make it happen...it will help but doing the work is what is required. I love the saying "work works".

You will see by the video below that never giving up is worth it!

Now go out there and make it happen.  "Concentrate on finding your goal, then concentrate on reaching it." Michael Friedsam

To your success,

Motivational Quotes

Sometimes the perfect quote can be just what you need to start your day, plan for tomorrow or just find a little motivation. I found this video on You Tube and wanted to share it with you.

One of my favorites is “Do not wait for your ship to come in – swim out to it.” Author unknown.

Please take some time and let me know your favorite.

Enjoy!

Consistency is Key to Success

Consistency is the key to success! Have you heard that saying before? I have! It is really hitting home this past week. I was not very consistent with my work outs at the gym this summer. I made a decision this week to get to the gym everyday and I did it. And boy am I sore. Sometimes making the decision is your first and easiest step. Next, you must make a plan. I scheduled my work outs into my day around work, appointments, kids, homework, etc… And of course, last but not least, one must be consistent.

The same goes when it comes to your business. Once you take your foot off the gas it is hard to speed back up again. This is a very important lesson to learn especially when starting a new home business. You must remember it is a business and it is your business to grow. Hopefully, you will have a mentor to walk you through the beginning steps, but in the end it is your job to do the daily, weekly, monthly activities to reach those goals you set.  You must be consistent whether it is on a part-time or full-time basis.

3 Simple Tips For Consistency

1. Use a calendar and stick to it

2. Organize your day the night before

3. Partner up and have someone hold you accountable

I personally think #3 is the most powerful. The great thing about being your own boss is no boss to report to, no time card to punch, you set your hours, however that can be the biggest challenge when someone is new to managing their home business. However, if you partner with someone and give them permission to hold you accountable, you are more likely to get in a routine and do the daily activities to have a successful business. The mentor will also make sure you are picking the right daily activities. You must be consistent with activities that will lead to results.

So remember…. “Success is dependent on effort.”  Sophocles

Goal Setting

It seems like the phrase goal setting is thrown around like any other catch phrase. What does goal setting really mean? By definition, goal setting involves establishing specific, measurable and time-targeted objectives.

The real question is what happens…
If you do not achieve your objective…do you stop working towards your goals?
Or
What happens if you reach your goal with ease…do you pat yourself on the back or do you set new goals?

I think John Maxwell puts it best. We should be more growth oriented and not just goal oriented.

I believe we should aim for consistent growth through smaller goals. Smaller, more attainable goals allow us to celebrate success, but our desire for growth will keep us consistent with our day-to-day activities.

Remember that your simple day-to-day activities that have purpose will lead to your overall long term growth. “If we’re growing, we’re always going to be out of our comfort zone.” John Maxwell

Your future is still unwritten

Have you ever really listened to the words “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield?

It is an amazing song that has great meaning behind it if you really take the time to listen to the words. My daughter’s kindergarten teacher put together a slideshow presentation of all the pictures from the year and used this song for the theme. She started by saying how young our children are and how their future is still “Unwritten.” I believe even if we are adults our future is still “Unwritten.” We can take the steps to write our future the way we want to see it.  We are all “starring at the blank page before us”, but what we do with that blank page will determine our future. “Today is where your book begins!”

Enjoy the song, words and meaning…I hope you can “live your life with arms wide open” and embrace the opportunities before you.

My soon to be 1st grader!
